28. EXTRA COSTING : a. PV Battery technology is fast-paced and ever-evolving and so are their safety and compliance requirements.

b. We endeavour to do our best to assess your needs and circumstances to design a battery package that meets the safety and compliance requirements.

c. However, after our design, we occasionally identify an element of extra cost to achieve the required safety and compliance which we were unable to properly assess prior.

d. If we do identify extra costs then we will discuss this with you prior to the work being carried out so that you can take an informed decision whether to go ahead with the installation.

e. If you wish to cancel the installation then we will refund the full deposit to you in accordance with Clause 5.

f. If you wish to progress further with the installation then the extra cost is payable as per our standard payment terms.

29. LOCATION : a. AS/NZS 5139:2019 has expressed very specific requirements relating to where the battery can be installed. In some cases, fire-proof sheets may be required at additional cost.

b. AS/NZS 5139:2019 may restrict CEC Accredited installer from installing the battery at your ‘chosen’ location and the CEC Accredited Installer holds the final authority of assessing and deciding the final location according to the AS/NZS 5139:2019.

c. Any additional work required to prepare the site for installation, but not already specified in the quotation, will be subject to additional charges.

d. Batteries can only be placed in a non-habitable room and if there is no such location available within the premises then either:

  • i. We may cancel the project and refund you the money in accordance with clause 5; or
  • ii. We can install the battery outside the premises in a Cabinet/Enclosure/Weatherproof Space at an additional cost if the battery is not weather-proof.

30. BACKUP : a. The battery system isn't equipped with an automatic 'Backup' mechanism during a blackout. However, this 'Backup' mechanism can be included at an extra cost.

b. Appliances that have power requirements greater than the maximum allowable AC output of the battery inverter (please refer to the inverter datasheet for backup data) cannot be covered under the blackout circuit. Doing so will automatically show a fault alarm on the battery inverter.

c. Although the storage systems can be configured to all circuits during an outage, we strongly recommend the connection of only certain circuits that are essential.

31. MAINTENANCE & PROTECTION OF BATTERY : a. Battery maintenance must be undertaken by professional electricians who are licenced by the CEC to work on Solar Batteries.

b. NO FLAMABLE materials are to be stored near the battery at all.

c. It is your responsibility to keep the area de-cluttered and to maintain the site hazards free.

d. If the battery is to be installed indoors (for example garage, shed etc.) it is necessary to install bollards to safeguard the battery from potential mechanical impacts. This attracts at an extra cost unless the cost for the bollard(s) is included in your quotation or if you are providing the bollard(s) yourself.

e. Required clearance must be maintained around the battery throughout the life of its operation.

32. VOID OF WARRANTY : a. At any stage, if you attach any batteries yourself /your chosen electrician with the PV/Battery System supplied by us then it voids the entire warranty for your entire system.

b. Lead acid batteries are not recommended by CEC and AS/NZ 5139:2019 for Solar PV systems. If you attach Lead acid batteries with the PV/Battery System supplied by us then it voids the entire warranty for your entire system.

33. USE OF BATTERY : a. The performance of the battery over the warranty period must conform to the battery manufacturer's warranty criterion.

b. A stable internet connection is a requirement of many manufacturers. Non-availability of an internet connection at all or for a longer period of time may affect the way the battery operates and ultimately it may void the warranties of the product.

c. If the battery is not used for an extended period of time, then it may fail to recharge and it is not covered under the warranty in this circumstance.

d. If you decide to turn the battery OFF for an extended period of time, such as going overseas, then it must be recharged at least at 50% level before turning it OFF.

34. OFF-GRID INSTALLATION : a. Regarding off-grid systems, any variations in system size, battery locations, and diesel generator interlocking with an off-grid inverter will be taken into consideration after a site inspection conducted by our CEC-accredited off-grid installer.

b. It is the responsibility of the customer to provide and set up a Diesel Generator.
